The library's study rooms are intended for patrons who require a quiet atmosphere in which to pursue individual study, as well as to contain the noise of small group discussions.
There are study rooms available at three locations of the Livingston Parish Library:
Study rooms are available during normal hours of operation, but all study rooms are shut 15 minutes before closing time.
The study rooms can be used by up to six (6) people, depending on the size of the study room available at each location.
Any study room left unattended for more than 15 minutes of the requested time will be considered cancelled and available for use by others.
Currently, the Livingston Parish Library has three (3) branches that offer study rooms for patron use.
Study rooms are booked in-person on a first-come, first-serve basis. They cannot be reserved in advance.
Individuals requesting a study room must:
The individual initiating the request must be present during the period of usage.
No fees are charged for the use of these rooms, but at least one of the users must possess a valid Livingston Parish Library card.
Study room booking is done by library staff at the service desk nearest the rooms.
Study room usage is limited to two (2) hours per day if no one is waiting for a room. Time may be extended by one-hour increments until another group or individual wants to use the room.
