Let the Outreach department bring library services to you!
Can’t come to us? We’ll come to you!
The Livingston Parish Library’s Outreach Department is responsible for providing library services outside of the traditional library setting. LPL staff make hundreds of visits around Livingston Parish each year, bringing library services to public and private schools, preschools and daycare centers, book clubs, nursing homes, retirement facilities, community events, and anywhere else we're invited!

The Livingston Parish Library Outreach Department offers a mix of the following activities to daycare centers, nursing homes, schools, community events, and other locations throughout Livingston Parish:
The Discovery Mobile – also known as the “Bookmobile” – serves as a mobile branch of the Livingston Parish Library and offers many services and resources found in our traditional branches, such as books, audiobooks, movies and DVDs, and Wi-Fi. Patrons can order or reserve items through the mobile library, and community members can sign up for library cards or renew existing ones.
Operated by the LPL’s Outreach Department, the Discovery Mobile routinely visits daycares, schools, low-income housing facilities, large apartment complexes, and nursing homes throughout the community. The mobile library is also featured in numerous community events, such as Fall Fest, Spring Fest, the Livingston Parish Fair, literacy nights, STEM days, and more.
