Are you up for a challenge? Look no further than Readers Club, the Livingston Parish Library's year-long reading challenge for adults!

Introduced in 2022, the Readers Club is the perfect way to discover new books, genres, topics, and interests! Thousands of people have signed up for Readers Club, making this Livingston Parish’s biggest club centered around reading! 

The 2026 theme for Readers Club is Color Me Read, with each month highlighting a different color!

This year, we are thrilled to announce of partnerships with Barnes & Noble (Juban Crossing) and CC's Coffee House (Denham Springs). 

  • Barnes & Noble will provide $25 gift cards to be raffled off each month.
  • CC's Coffee House will host our monthly Readers Club Book Club, Books & Brews.

The Livingston Parish Library's Readers Club is a year-long reading challenge for adults (ages 18+) that runs from Jan. 1- Dec. 31 of each year and awards participants for reaching reading milestones within that year.

Participants can read or listen to books of their own choosing, and they can also complete Monthly Challenges based on a particular theme.

At the end of the challenge, the Livingston Parish Library will host a Readers Club Reception to honor patrons that reach the following milestones:

  • Bronze: 25 books
  • Silver: 50 books
  • Gold: 75 books
  • Platinum: 100 books

Participating in Readers Club is simple, easy, and fun! Here are some details to be aware of: 

  • The Livingston Parish Library uses a web-based program called Beanstack to track progress for all its reading challenges, including Readers Club.
  • You must log your books into Beanstack to receive "Logging Badges." 
  • When you reach 25, 50, 75, and 100 books, you will receive a Reward in Beanstack to earn prizes. Prizes will then be awarded at the end of the challenge during the Readers Club Reception in January of the next year.
  • If you are unable to attend the reception, you will be able to pick up your prize at your local branch after the date of the reception. 

Here's how to participate in Readers Club:

  • Step 1: Create a Beanstack account
  • Step 2: Read or listen to any book of your choosing 
  • Step 3: Log your books into Beanstack to earn “Logging Badges” 

Color Me Read!

Get ready to dive into a vibrant world of literature with the Readers Club theme for 2026: Color Me Read. 

This exciting theme invites participants to explore the colorful spectrum of books, from vivid fantasies and thrilling mysteries to heartfelt memoirs and insightful non-fiction. Each book you choose adds a splash of color to your reading journey, turning pages into a palette of diverse stories and experiences.  

So, let’s paint our reading lists with all the hues that ignite our imaginations and expand our horizons. Join us and see just how colorful your reading can be! 

Monthly Challenge Color Themes

Each month in 2026 will feature a different color. To complete the Monthly Challenge, read and log a book with a cover in that month’s color or word in the title that relates to that color. The monthly themes are listed below.

And if you need help finding a book that fits the theme, don't sweat! Click on the month for a list of suggestions our staff put together!

  • January – White  
  • February – Dark Blue
  • March – Purple
  • April – Light Green
  • May – Yellow
  • June – Light Blue
  • July – Red 
  • August – Pink
  • September – Orange
  • October – Black
  • November – Brown
  • December – Dark Green

Monthly Challenge

Along with reading or listening to books of their own choosing, participants can complete Monthly Challenges by reading books based on that month's theme.

Here's how it works:

  • To take part in the Monthly Challenge, read or listen to a book based on that month’s theme
  • After completing the book, log in to your Beanstack account and select “Log Reading and Activities”
  • Select “Complete an Activity”
  • Select the activity you completed
  • Type the title and author of the book you read 
  • Note: Logging must take place within the dates to complete the Monthly Challenge (Example: To complete the Monthly Challenge for January, you must log your book between January 1-31.)

This year, the Livingston Parish Library is thrilled to have Barnes & Noble (Juban Crossing) as a sponsor for 2026 Readers Club!

As part of this generous sponsorship, Barnes & Noble will donate a $25 gift card each month that will be the raffle prize for those who complete that month's Monthly Challenge. This gift card can be used at any Barnes & Noble location or www.barnesandnoble.com. 

Here's how the drawings work:

  • Log one book into an Activity Badge to complete that month’s challenge
  • Once your book is logged, you will automatically be entered into the monthly prize drawing
  • A winner will be randomly selected from among those who completed the Monthly Challenge
  • Your local LPL branch will contact you to pick up your prize ($25 gift card to Barnes & Noble)
  • Note: Participants can only win once within a calendar year

Let's talk books!

Join us for LPL's Readers Club Book Club, Books & Brews, hosted by CC's Coffee House in Denham Springs! 

Whether you participate in Readers Club or just want to talk about books while sipping coffee, Books & Brews is a "Bring-Your-Own-Book" style book club open to anyone ages 18 and older.

Each month, we'll discuss the books we read that fit into the theme for that month's Readers Club Monthly Challenge. And if you didn't read a book for the Monthly Challenge? We don't care! Come anyway and tell us what you're reading! Maybe we'll want to read it, too.

Books & Brews details

Below are details for the LPL's Books & Brews:

  • Day: Fourth Tuesday of each month (except for January and December)
  • Time: 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • Location: CC's Coffee House in Denham Springs (2200 S. Range Avenue)

In addition to providing a space for Books & Brews to gather, CC's Coffee House provides free pastries and discounted coffee to attendees.

  • Date: Tuesday, February 24, 2026
  • Time: 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • Location: CC's Coffee House in Denham Springs (2200 S. Range Avenue)
  • Discussion: During February's Books & Brews, we will discuss the books we read for February's Monthly Challenge theme of dark blue. 
    • To complete this Monthly Challenge, read a book that features dark blue predominantly on the cover or in the title.
