The Denham Springs-Walker Branch was voted “Favorite Library Branch” in the 2025 Baton Rouge Parents Magazine Family Favorites contest.

This annual celebration highlights the best of the best in Baton Rouge, allowing residents to nominate and vote for their favorite family-friendly businesses, schools, healthcare providers, and service professionals in the area.

More than 115,000 votes were cast in this year’s Family Favorites contest, according to Baton Rouge Parents Magazine.

This is the third straight year the Livingston Parish Library was nominated in the annual regional voting competition. The Denham Springs-Walker Branch finished as a runner-up in each of the last two years in the same category.

The Denham Springs-Walker Branch officially opened in 2006, making it the first of five state-of-the-art branches built in the system from 2006-12. The branch covers nearly 30,000 square feet and includes a computer lab, an Idea Lab, study rooms, resting and reading areas, two meeting rooms, virtual reality, 3D printing and scanning, courtyards, two large parking lots, a gaming area, a children’s area, and more. It also has the Livingston Parish Library system’s largest physical collection.

Additionally, the Denham Springs-Walker Branch serves as the site for the Library’s annual Comic Con event, Livingston Parish’s largest celebration of comic books, movies, television, and pop culture.
